About CIS

Compute It Simple is written by me, Linda McIver. I am a Computer Science academic turned high school teacher, just entering my sicth year working with my school to develop a Computational Science curriculum at a Science School, and my fifth year as a classroom teacher.

I am exceptionally lucky, because I work with highly motivated, very talented kids. And yet I have seen first hand that it is possible to turn such kids off Computational Science, far more easily than they can be attracted.

So what works? What fails? How do we show our kids that CS is a fascinating, satisfying career? Come talk about it with me!

Credit for the header image for this site goes to Michael Franklin, of Illusional. Credit for inspiration goes to my students, each and every one of them.
